Being a reception manager is much more than just managing the reception desk. It is me that the residents see as they enter the lobby, I see when they are happy or sad, when they want to talk or be silent. That is what’s unique about this home, I feel like one of the residents and hope that they feel the same.

First, I relate to each resident – how they feel on a certain day and what bothers them. It is only after that that I address the problem. I never say “Not now” or “I’m busy”. I know how important it is for the light to go on, the TV to work, the A/C to operate at that moment, that’s why I do all that I can to get to them and solve their problem as quickly as possible.
